It’s snowing here in the Shongum area of Randolph today. Having snow on the
trees is so pretty and inspirational for holiday cards. Have you looked
around at nature for inspiration? Try it!
I tried a new technique, it’s call the Magic Snowflake technique. This is my first attempt and although it’s not my best, I thought I would share it. It’s just to show the technique, this is not a "finished" card by any means:
Cotton Ball(s)
Rubbing Alcohol
Reinkers (two similar colors)
White Embossing Powder
Glossy White Card Stock
VersaMark pad
Stamp set of your choice
Heat set tool
First you stamp using VersaMark pad, sprinkle with your white embossing powder and set using the heat tool.
Next you saturate your cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and put two drops of each color from the reinkers, beside each other, kind of like on the "4" dice. Just take the cotton ball and daub all over the card stock to get the effect you are looking for.
This last step is crucial – use the heat seat tool over the embossed image and you’ll see it come to life again – just like MAGIC!! That’s where the technique gets it’s name!
Enjoy!
