I've been working on some designs for myself and my sister's Christmas cards. I've had a lot of cards that I've made, but not many that I really liked or thought were worth putting up here.
Here is the design I am using. Don't have coordinating paper? Make your own! Instead of using designer series paper, it is a make your own background paper. I got this idea from another demo, but added my own touch to it.
I used the Snow Swirled stamp set on Shimmery White card stock. It is layered on Riding Hood Red onto Whisper White.
Certainly Celery and Riding Hood Red inks
I sponged some Certainly Celery on the background to give it some color in the areas with no images stamped.
I put on the chunky glitter with 2-way glue in the center of the larger snow bursts.
I had a lot of fun making this card. It didn't give me that "ugh" feeling even after making 21 of them!! LOL
I stamped the sentiment on the bottom in Riding Hood Red, so it all coordinates.
Here is the other design I came up with but we're not using, due to the intricacies.
This is using paper from last year (retired, yes, I know, bad girl). I am trying to re-use, recycle.
The star is punched out of the Gold card stock, using our large star punch. The ornament hanger is cut out of Gold Card stock. The ornament is adhered to the card with dimensionals.
This is the Noel from the "Big on Christmas" stamp set.
I stamped the image three times, once on the Very Vanilla card stock, then on the designer paper and finally on the Gold card stock.
The paper is layered on Really Red. The Noel is colored using Real Red Stampin' Write markers. It is great to work with these products, since everything coordinates, the designer paper, card stock, ink, markers, ribbon and other accessories!
